We started WiFIVE architects in 2009 based on the philosophy that every project - regardless of size or complexity - can benefit from the involvement of an Architect. Our system is flexible so that we may tailor a unique approach to each project within a framework that allows us to maximize our value to each Client's unique needs. Our goal for each project is to design beautiful spaces, based not only on your tastes and current lifestyle, but which are easily adaptable for the future.
Brian Gernetzke has always been fascinated by cities. While in high school, he knew he wanted to be an architect and spent a lot of time reading about skyscrapers, airports, and city planning.
Brian Schwieterman graduated in 2000 from the University of Cincinnati's College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) with a Bachelor's of Architecture degree.
The basic principles of Universal Design continue to gain in popularity, and new products & ideas are constantly being developed. Whether you have an immediate need for increased accessibility or not, incorporating these principles can make any space more functional and in many cases you don't even notice that they are in place - it's just good design. We look for new and interesting ways to incorporate these principles into all of our projects.
Taking Universal Design one step further, residential design for Aging-in-Place aims to not only address the physical changes that are a natural part of the human aging process, but to also understand and respond to the mental and emotional aspects as well. As CAPS (Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist) professionals we are able to address the fear of being alone, helplessness, and increased dependency people tend to experience as they get older. We strive to design home environments which not only respond to your current lifestyle, but which are adaptable for your future needs, allowing you and your loved ones to live safely and comfortably in your home as long as possible.
CAPS Professionals are not only trained in aging-friendly solutions to new construction and common remodeling projects, they are trained to understand the entire aging process and its unique demands. The CAPS designation is the most reliable way identify professionals who are specifically trained to assess your home and develop design solutions to keep you safe and comfortable in your own home. WiFIVE architects is proud to have earned the CAPS designation.
